It is June 28th, the 180th day of the year. I am of course taking into consideration that this year was a a leap year, so any other year it would be the 179th day of the year.
Happy learning!
Today's birthdays are:
Mel Brooks who is 82 today. Brooks is an acclaimed writer, director, composer, lyricist, actor and producer. He was won a Grammy, an Oscar, a Tony, and an Emmy. Mel Brooks also wrote and directed he 1968 film The Producers, which subsequently became a Broadway smash, and in 2005 Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick filmed a version of The Producers based on the Broadway play.
Kathy Bates is 60 today. She won an Oscar for her starring role in Misery in which she played a psychotic ex-nurse, Annie Wilkes, who meets her favourite author after saving him from a car accident. She acts as his nurse while at the same time keeping him strapped to a bed inside her house. Bates also starred in Fried Green Tomatoes as Evelyn Couch. (I just love that movie and thought I'd throw that in there for you. Go see it!!)
This day in history:
On June 28th, 2001 former President of Serbia and Yugoslovia, Slobodan Milosevic, was handed over to the United Nations War Crimes Tribunal to be tried for war crimes that were allegedly committed during his rule. The trial was interrupted on numerous occasion because of Milosevic's heart conditions and high blood pressure. The proceedings were ended when on March 11th Milosevic was found dead in his cell. The autopsy report showed he died of heart failure.
In 1914 Franz Ferdinand Archduke of Austria and his wife, Sohpie, are assassinated by Serbian nationalist Gavrilo Princip. Their deaths sparked WWI, the global war that killed 20 million people and injured 21 million more.
Today is also the day that we remember fondly, MIKE TYSON BIT THAT GUYS EAR OFF!!
Yes, Tyson was disqualified in round 3 for biting a piece of Evander Holyfield's ear off. Way to go man.
I'll spare you a list of people who died. I think covering WWI even as little as I did was enough for today.
On a side note, anyone want to take me to see Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay? I'm buying, and I'll bring snacks.

Updates And Trivia!
Hi!!
Sorry I have been away for a very long time. I am currently attemption to put together a benefit concert and it is taking up most of my time.
I have added two new songs to the player! Both songs are of the same name, and are pretty much the same song but! The trivia below should explain everything.
So please enjoy the sweet sounds of Cliff Richard, and the 80's sounds of the Young Ones.
Trivia time!
The Young Ones is the name of a 1962 British musical featuring Cliff Richard, who did the soundtrack for the movie.
The BBC show The Young Ones is named after the song.
The cast of the show (Ade Edmondson, Rik Mayall, Chris Ryan, and Nigel Planer) sing a rock version of the The Young Ones as the opening theme.
The character of Rick on The Young Ones is an avid Cliff Richard fan.

BYSK's The Day When This Happened #3
Today in history, we see Leonardo da Vinci's 556th birthday!
If he were alive today, he would be a scientific marvel.
Wouldn't you agree?
Thank you da Vinci, for such things as the Virtruvian Man, Mona Lisa, and let us not forget that haunting self portrait.
His work, and himself have become icons in the art world. Today, his work is still studied and highly regarded.
You know, he studied how a baby grows in the womb? He has studied the human body inside and out with stunning accuracy.
Thank you again da Vinci, for your inspiration, intelligence, and pure talent.

BYSK Fun Fact #4
Hello fell movie goers, do-gooders, and crazy citizens. I am bringing you another Fun Fact.
Here we go!
Once when I was really little, and please let me stress that I do not remember this at all, I ate a cheese cake that my mother had set on a plate on top of a garbage can. You know the garbage cans with the flip top lids? It was one of those. So she set an uneaten, much to sweet cheese cake on top, and I went to town.
I think I was like, 1. So forgive me.
My parents and I were appearently going to go out to eat, and my mom lost me in the house. On her way through the kitchen, she said there I was grinning like a fool eating my cheese cake and making a mess of myself.
Sorry there isn't a picture to follow
This has been, BYSK Fun Fact #4. A.K.A: An embarrassing moment in Aiden's childhood.
